August Newsletter 2024

7th August 2024

Hello << Test First Name >>,

August is here, so our classes are on a summer break; that doesn’t mean life is slowing down though!

Our have-a-go sessions will be available on a first come, first, serve basis at the Chalke Valley Village Fete on August 17th. So far we’re not planning to exhibit at any other festivals until next year, so don’t miss out!

Places are currently available for our next term but limited.

Do you know someone who would be interested in starting as a carving student in autumn but you’re not sure which dates suit them? There are Vouchers in a range to suit all budgets can be found on our website.

September will be here soon, and we’ve got confirmation from the venue for our next collaborative ‘Positive Death and Dying Professionals’ networking event. If you’d like to us to be in touch with any suppliers you recommend as facilitating choice in the funerary process, please let us know. The event will be held Tuesday 17th September.

Best wishes,
Henry & Tam

In the studio

We’ve met some delightful new student in the studio, as well as some brave have-a-go students on the road. Here are some of the carvings that have come to life recently:
Left: Paul who is typographer and designs letterforms and fonts wanting to learn to cut letters.
Right: Patrick carving a flower.

Left: Ollie carving a highland cow because of his Scottish roots
Right: Gwendoline, carving a starfish which she named Patrick

Left: Jamie Woolrich carved this Buddha and gave it Henry for his 60th
Centre: A little finished flower by then a lady at a have a go session.
Right: Jim and his own carved in one day

A carving of a small figure in buddhist robes, gifted to Henry

A have a go carvery cutting a lovely flower of her own design, and “Glorious” finally painted.
